A climbing kiln of the Iwashita Seito

Japan Heritage
The Iwashita Seito pottery studio has two climbing kilns which became popular before the Mingei (folk-crafts) Movement in Japan. The kilns are the largest among those seen in areas northward from the Kantō district. It has been designated a tangible cultural property by the city of Mashiko as the oldest climbing kiln in that city and is preserved together with old kiln-related implements.
